Machining

Machining is a process that consists in removing material in order to give the raw part the desired shape and dimensions using a machine tool. Saint Jean Industries uses it for prototyping but also in post-foundry stage.

We have a flexible and powerful machining park for small to very large series. We also produce our own tools and cutting tools. This allows us to be as reactive as possible and to optimize cycle times.

Machining CNC

Our 5-axis HSM machines can produce complex parts in all aluminum, steel and cast iron alloys.

Aluminum alloys

From 10 000 to 1 000 000 parts per year, we are able to machine all types of parts and alloys, from foundry, forge, extrusion…

As an indication, here are the standard limits of machining volume that we use:

  • Casting / forging parts: 1,000 x 800 x 1,000 mm
  • Aluminum profiles: 6,000 mm x 600 mm x 600 mm
  • Assembled parts: 2.600 x 800 x 550 mm

Steel and cast iron alloys

For volumes of 10 000 to 300 000 parts per year, we are able to machine all types of cast iron and steel alloys: 1.4849, 1.4837, 1.4848, 1.4826, 1.4837Nb…

As an indication, here are the standard limits of machining volume that we use: 11 000 x 3 800 x 1 100 mm
